Connect, settle in, and feel at home in Nordwestmecklenburg

Starting a new job is often the first step – truly settling in means much more: meeting people, building connections, and getting to know your new region. This is exactly where the Welcome Meetup hosted by the Welcome Service Center Nordwestmecklenburg comes in.

To kick off the year 2026, we warmly invite newly relocated professionals and returnees to a social bowling evening in Wismar. In a relaxed and informal setting, participants have the opportunity to connect, exchange experiences, and build a local network – personally, openly, and without pressure.

Why take part?

The Welcome Meetup gives you the chance to:

  • meet other international and newly relocated professionals,

  • exchange insights about living and working in Nordwestmecklenburg,

  • build social connections and feel at home more quickly,

  • receive valuable tips for a successful new start in the region.

Especially for newly hired employees, a strong social network plays a key role in long-term integration and retention.

The Welcome Service Center Nordwestmecklenburg covers the lane rental and bowling shoes.

At the Mini Info Session, the following institutions will briefly introduce themselves and their offerings:

Musical education for children, teens, and adults – instrumental lessons, ensembles, and exciting projects.

📚 Adult Education Center (VHS) Nordwestmecklenburg
A wide range of courses – from language learning and professional development to creative workshops for all ages.

🤝 MitMachZentrale (Volunteer & Participation Hub)
Your platform for getting involved, discovering new leisure activities, and meeting people in the region.

In just half an hour, you’ll gain lots of helpful tips on how to spend your free time, meet new people, and quickly feel at home.
